Tidy Towns in Castletownbere and Bantry planting for Pollinators

Tidy towns in Castletownbere and Bantry and are working together with West Cork Beekeepers Association to create a pollinator friendly environment in our towns.

The above image is of the heather planting that took place in December 2016 in the school ground behind the church in Castletownbere.
The foreground area will be wild flowers, and the high ground will be foxgloves and native wild flowers
The next  area is the GAA pitch which will be another wild flower area

If anyone has a patch of land in the town that they feel would be a good spot to plant pollinator friendly flowers please contact us via the website and Barry Harrington of Tidy Towns  will be in touch to assess suitability.
